Wizzar Botaw Bo Htun Aung
The Weizzar Botaw Bo Htun Aung, third regent of Nagama, master of Mercury, Iron, Medicine and Squarematch is characterized by his direct approach to Nibbana the final attainment of Buddha's teachings, by his practical example of daily life.
He was born during the Kone Baung period, Ava (Innwa) dynasty at the time of Mindone King in the year 1810 AD at Kyaik Lait town. His parents U. Kyauk Saung and Daw Shu Hone, of Chinese origin lived here. Due to an epidemic of cholera, at the age of 6 years, he lost all of his relatives including his parents and thus became a servant of an opium trader named U. Kintin.
In order to bring opium, he crossed the Shan State on twenty occasions, during his last trip upon his return home, his wife Mya Than Ye died by falling down the stairs on her way to welcome him. She was pregnant with his second child. This left him with a daughter of 6 years, who later abandoned him when she was 19 years old, in order to marry a man of whom he disapproved.
After this event he went back to his house. Once there, the Weizzar Sayadaw U. Pandiat appeared to him; but out of anger he refused his help. Once he recovered he went around his town asking if anyone had seen the monk who came to visit his house. everyone thought that he had become insane. Later, for a second time Weizzar Sayadaw U. Pandita came to him and after one year and ten months Botaw Bo Htun Aung succeeded and came to be a Mercury Weizzar at the age of 54. Since this time he has resided at Nagama Mountain and is still gives frequent teachings at Aungtawmu Monastery.
