Students and Junta

The National Education Law is enacted by the government. The ABFSU objected before enacted since drafting but the government ignore.
ABFSU requested to participate for writing. Teacher Union, ABSFU and NNER sent suggestion. The Bill committee said they met 99 times various organizations, they listen suggestion and have discussed with them.
After enacting, ABFSU strike 4 days and call for amendment of the law within 60 days. When they didn't receive any reply after 60 days, about one hundred students begin a march from Mandalay to Yangon.
On the way of marching, people welcome and arrange accommodation for students.
The government asked to stop striking and offered four-party talks involving the government, Parliament, NNER and the students.
During holding talks, the government asked to stop striking but the students didn't.
They held four-party talks but didn't reach success. The students from other cities begin the marches to unite with the main strike.
The Home Affair minister says that student protesters are threatening the country’s stability and warns some foreign organizations are encouraging them.
After continue a series of talk, they reach to agreement to amend and the students decided to go back home. They wanted to go Shwe Da Gon Pagoda in Yangon as their final meeting in their return.
The government didn't allow them to go there because the pagoda is famous for First Burma Students Strike in English Colonial Era.
After a week-long blockade, police violently crack down on students and their supporters. Many are injured and 127 people are arrested. Members of the media are also targeted but no one died.

Review
…………
If we look from the beginning to the crackdown, the government use various tactical ways to fail strike. They started with offering negotiation, give and take is to stop strike. They just had plans to crackdown instead of amending the laws.
They arranged counter-attack but fail. The government offered the negotiation and on the other hand they warn and block with more than 300 polices. They used both soft and hard methods to break down. Both are the methods which brutal Generals practice throughout their period. Recent regime quasi-government official are also ex-generals and the ‘divide and rule’ method are used among protesters. The protesters are always their enemies. There was no concession from junta in the history. They just tried break down all strikes. The dream of legal Student Union also does not come true.
The students are always enemies of junta. There were many students’ strikes to change the government. The role of students are very important for Burma. The students’ strikes lead to independent and until now they are still important to be a democratic country.
Whatever they called themselves the democratic transition or democratic government, they are undeniable junta. They got power in 2010 election without opponent parties because they imprison all high profile politicians when election hold. The constitution gives over power to military and protect their guilty.
Military rulers are our enemies as well. If we can’t eradicate them, we will be their slaves forever.
